To help tell these stories in ways that drive deeper engagement, awareness and advocacy, Bank of America is looking for a Content Marketing Executive to lead its Content Marketing Center of Excellence. As the bank looks to deliver advice, guidance and insights to audiences, it must do so in more personalized digital experiences that are both meaningful and memorable to them. For that reason, the person to fill this role will have strong experience in two distinct disciplines: Content strategy, journey mapping and planning and content development and editorial quality. This person will also lead a team of content marketers, and will be required to develop and present new approaches to content marketing to leaders across the bank. This role requires collaboration with a large cross-section of internal and external stakeholders to ensure creation, production, distribution and measurement of omnichannel content. More specifically, this leader will be asked to:

  • Lead a team of content developers and strategists to design and deliver content programs that serve multiple audiences across Bank of America.

  • Lead the strategic direction for content marketing programs across the Data, Digital and Global Marketing Division of the bank. This involves planning for digital-first and personalized content marketing experience design and delivery. It will require a strong understanding of personalization trends and digital journey mapping to foster greater engagement and high-value actions.

  • Engage with and develop strong internal relationships with all levels of management cross-functionally as a Subject Matter Expert, educating, and inspiring stakeholders about new capabilities.

  • Represent the content marketing industry, informing leadership teams and the Center of Excellence of important trends, technology or process innovations that have the capacity of improving our work at Bank of America.

  • Lead process improvement and Operational Excellence for the Center of Excellence to ensure all content programming is well socialized, adherent to guidelines and is governed appropriately. This includes managing best-in-class content development processes and newsrooms, while adhering to broader Data, Digital and Global Marketing procedures.

  • Manage the end-to-end processes of content development and delivery for the audiences we serve and the marketing teams that support them. This includes strong strategic planning, developing clear content program briefs to inform partners and agencies and managing the content editorial review and the quality of the content developed by the Center of Excellence

  • Help to lead improvements in content capabilities to ensure we work more efficiently and closely with key partners across the Data, Digital and Global Marketing team. This includes identifying best-in-class content management systems and assessing how well the teams engage in them.

  • Take a data-first approach to content marketing development, leaning heavily on performance metrics to inform strategy and new content programming. Creating a strong culture of monitoring, analyzing and fine-tuning content programs. This includes working closely with our data and analytic and segment marketing teams to set concise goals for content programs, and to measure the performance of content against those goals.

  • Work closely with our User Experience teams to design content programs for audiences that match the customer experience, driving greater engagement and high-value tasks. Map journeys based on the goals for each program or campaign, which are based explicitly on audience needs.

  • Lead the administration of a Center of Excellence, including team management and engagement. This includes finding and fostering top talent in the discipline, managing the review process and pay-for-performance conversations, as well as other key ongoing administrative management.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, brand, media, or related field

  • Experience leading multichannel content creation and distribution strategies for large-scale brands

  • BA, MBA Preferred

  • Proven leader with strong track in content strategy, storytelling and content development in financial services or another highly regulated industry.

  • Strong experience in managing a content marketing team and building content strategies for a large scale brands.

  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead and develop a team or organization, with clear leadership & decision-making skills, problem solving and strategic thinking.

  • Success in delivering content program in a highly regulated industry, with an understanding of regulatory, compliance and legal requirements.

  • Intellectually curious and innovative thinker with demonstrated strategic acumen.

  • Ability to navigate a matrixed organization effectively and drive collaboration.

  • Excellent communication, influencing and facilitation skills

  • Strong participation in the content marketing industry, a strong knowledge of content marketing trends and strong connections to content marketing experts and new talent across a variety of industries.
