TLDR:
- Scrunch MCP lets you explore and take action on your AI search data conversationally.
- Answer questions, surface insights, manage tools, and more by simply chatting with AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, and Microsoft Copilot or Scrunch’s in-app chatbot.
- Get set up in minutes—no API keys, no shared secrets, just your existing Scrunch sign-in.
AI chat is eating clicks all over—even inside the tools you pay for.
Today’s teams want to uncover insights and act on them, fast. Not by pointing, clicking, sorting, and exporting. But by having a conversation.
Scrunch is meeting them there.
Introducing Scrunch MCP—the connector between the AI tools you use every day and the insights and actions available in Scrunch.
It lets you tap into the power of your data via conversational Q&A, either in your AI tool of choice or right inside the Scrunch platform.
Just as importantly, we don’t stop at read-only insights. You can go from insight to action in one conversation.
Think of it like an always-on, everywhere-you-work AI search specialist—fully immersed in your data and ready to make moves at your command.
It doesn’t just pull presence, position, sentiment, citation, and AI traffic metrics. It also creates new brands, tracks new prompts and competitors, assigns new filtering dimensions, and more (with lots more to come).
If the shift toward AI search has taught us anything, it’s that people want more than a list of options to hunt through. They want answers and next steps.
We built Scrunch MCP to deliver them, no dashboard required.

Scrunch now fits in your chat window
Scrunch provides granular visibility into your AI search performance across LLMs—and a wide range of tools designed to help you optimize your brand presence.
Our MCP removes the interface entirely. Simply ask questions or give commands in plain language and we’ll handle the rest.
All you need to get set up is a Scrunch account, a compatible AI client (you can use Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and other AI assistants or, starting next week, our in-app chatbot, Scrunchie), and about five minutes.
There's no API key to copy and no shared secret—your AI platform will send you to Scrunch's normal sign-in flow, you approve the connection once, and the MCP runs as you with the brand permissions you already have.
See how to connect the Scrunch MCP to your AI assistant of choice here.
Don’t have access to an AI chat suite or prefer to action on your live data inside our platform? We’ve got you covered.
Our new and improved support bot—Scrunchie—now runs on our MCP as well. Scrunchie will be rolled out to customers automatically starting next week.
Whether you’re chatting with Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or Scrunchie, there’s no need to point and click—just ask.

Here’s a taste of what you can do
We know a blank page (or blank chat box) isn’t always the most helpful starting point.
So we’ve put together a prompt library to help you explore what’s possible.
The examples below are a few of our team’s favorite prompts, designed to surface gaps, spot competitive threats, and find opportunities hiding in your AI search data—all preformatted for maximum effect.
Feel free to copy, paste, and customize—then create your own:
See where your brand should show up but doesn't
Find the prompts you should be winning but aren't. Run this to see where you're losing visibility on questions that mention your brand by name.
For [your brand name], pull prompt variants where brand_present = false. Sort by observation_count descending. Return the top 25 by observation count.
These are the most actively tracked queries where [your brand name] is absent. For each:
- Show the prompt text
- Show the platform
- Show the observation count
- Note whether it's a branded or unbranded query
Flag any branded queries in this list—a brand missing its own branded queries at high observation volume is an urgent issue.
Spot the easiest wins on your list
Pinpoint prompts where you're close to appearing but haven't broken through yet. These may be one content tweak away from a flip.
For [your brand name], I want to identify prompts where [your brand name] is close to appearing but isn't yet—the easiest wins.
Pull prompt variants where:
- brand_present = false
- branded = false
- The prompt text contains keywords related to [your brand name]'s core category (use search filter: "[category keyword]")
List up to 30 results. For each, explain why [your brand name] likely doesn't appear and what content change would most likely flip this to a brand_present = true result.
Find content blind spots hurting brand visibility
Identify the unbranded, high-volume prompts where you're invisible, then group them into themes you can build content against.
For [your brand name], pull prompt variants filtered to:
- branded = false (unbranded category or comparison queries)
- brand_present = false
Limit to 50 results sorted by observation_count descending (highest observation count first—these are the most-tracked queries the brand is missing).
For this set:
1. What topics or categories are these prompts in?
2. What does a prospect appear to be searching for when [your brand name] doesn't appear?
3. Group these into 3-5 thematic clusters—these represent distinct content gap areas
4. For each cluster, identify what type of content [your brand name] would need to rank for these queries
Learn where a specific competitor is beating you
See exactly which prompts your competitor wins and you don't—and figure out why.
For [your brand name], get the competitor ID for [competitor name] from the competitors list. Then pull variants filtered to:
- competitor_present = [competitor ID]
- brand_present = false
Limit to 50 results. This shows prompts where [competitor name] appears in AI responses but [your brand name] does not—direct competitive displacement.
For this set:
1. What topics or categories are these? Tag/topic breakdown
2. Are these branded or unbranded queries?
3. What is [competitor name] likely doing well that [your brand name] isn't for these queries?
4. Which of these represent the most valuable queries to reclaim—highest observation count, most commercially relevant topics?
Identify which competitor sites AI is citing
Find out which competitor websites AI platforms are pulling from and on which topics.
For [your brand name], I want to see which competitor domains are being cited in AI responses. Run pulls filtered to citation_domain for each main competitor's domain:
- citation_domain = [competitor1.com]
- citation_domain = [competitor2.com]
- citation_domain = [competitor3.com]
For each, report the count and which tags/topics they're concentrated in. Which competitor's content is AI pulling from most? On which topics is their content being cited instead of [your brand name]'s?
Discover greenfield prompts
Spot uncontested topics where neither you nor your top competitors are showing up. These are first-mover opportunities.
For [your brand name], I want to find prompts where neither [your brand name] nor its top competitors appear in AI responses.
Pull variants where:
- brand_present = false
- branded = false
Then cross-reference by pulling variants from this set where competitor_present is also false for the top 3 competitors.
These are uncontested queries—topics where AI has no clear brand to reference. For [your brand name], these represent opportunities to be first mover by creating content that fills this gap. Group by tag and identify the 3 most commercially relevant white space clusters.
